Audio comment: Patricia Parsons on ethics from IPR #21

Posted by Terry on August 31st, 2006

Professor Patricia Parsons, a faculty member in the Public Relations department at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, checks in with a very thoughtful and thought provoking comment on our astroturfing discussion in IPR #21.  In a voice made for podcasting, she raises interesting points that warrant further discussion.

A really interesting contribution – thanks Patricia! Philip Young has also looked at astroturfing from within the ethical principles of access, process, truth and discolsure put forward by Kathy Ftizpatrick.

However, it appears that once again the base issue is transparency. Who is controlling the campaign? If that is in the open – so are your motives – and everything takes a step towards being ethical.

A very insightful commentary on ethics. Thank you for that, Patricia.

Keep up the great show guys!
