Yes. At least with the NBA, new recruits have to go through a training session that includes media training.
As well, there is likely some sort of peer training (or pressure) that encourages new and old players to mirror the behaviour of their teammates. If one hits upon a formula to survive a media interview while sounding smart but saying nothing, the others are likely to follow.
