		<description>There&#039;s a little problem with your math in the cloud computing discussion. Storing your files online won&#039;t reduce the number of disks needed to store them; the only way to do that would be to decrease the amount of data people create, and there&#039;s no sign of that happening any time soon. Using cloud storage just moves the disks from your home or office into a data center somewhere, where they&#039;ll probably be duplicated for redundancy.

It *might* let people consolidate copies of files, assuming they have reliable enough access to the Internet. But if you only have one copy, then you don&#039;t have backups, and by now we should all know how important backups are.</description>
